Carol's Daughter Product Review Quality Products for African American HairAt $12.00 for only 8 ounces, I was somewhat hesitant when I purchased Carol's Daughter's Rosemary Mint Herbal Shampoo. I have long, thirsty, curly locks and I was certain that 8 ounces wouldn't last me very long. Nevertheless, after my friend continually encouraged me to give Carol's Daughter a try.

The Magic Ingredients Carol's Daughter's website actually does not list the magic ingredients. I found this quite disturbing since the company had long been touted as all natural. Once finding the ingredient listing on Sephora, I felt more comfortable about purchasing.

Call me obsessive compulsive, but I wanted to guard against any allergic reactions before spending $24.00 for a 16 oz supply of shampoo. To my surprise, however, Carol's Daughter's products are not all natural, but do contain many all natural, hair healthy ingredients-at least much more than your traditional beauty supply or drugstore shampoo. Is it for you?

It really depends. I think this shampoo is excellent, although I am not certain whether it is the most moisturizing or detangling shampoo on the market. I also was disappointed that the product was not all natural, yet it was far superior to most hair care products on the market for ethnic hair, especially the so-called reputable lines.

Overall, it was wonderful. It had a nice minty smell and wasn't too harsh. Yet, I also feel I get the same, if not better results from using Beauty 4 Ashes Godhead Silky Smooth Shampoo for Ethnic Hair.

This product is completely all natural and contains many of the same ingredients as the Rosemary Mint and Herbal Shampoo. It also has a few more natural oils for dry, tangled hair, such as shea, jojoba, avocado, and wheatgerm. But, this product is a bit pricier since it is all natural and includes extra ingredients.

You can learn more about it at wwwdiscoverb4acom. The Final WordThere is a scarcity of quality ethnic hair care products. Carol's Daughter is truly a breakthrough.

Of course, you should do your research and determine what works best for you. I did. I looked at every ingredient included in the product, especially for my own safety.

Would I use this product again? Most likely. But since I can achieve the same results without being exposed to chemicals, I will probably purchase GodHead Silky Smooth over the Rosemary Mint Herbal Shampoo.

By Shirley Henderson ...Lisa Price, who created Carol's Daughter, probably did not expect her line of sweet-smelling skin and hair care products to be so popular. The company grossed more than $2.25 million last year.In the summer of 1993, Price, who once worked as a singer in an R&B group and as a writer's assistant for The Cosby Show, was between jobs when she began selling her home-made creams and fragrances at flea markets and craft fairs. Her initial investement of $100 came from her savings.

"The intention was to have fun and enjoy the products," says Price, 42, who first created products in her Brooklyn kitchen for family and friends."And to make products with love. No attitudes. You don't bring that into the kitchen.

And no negativity; that doesn't get stirred into the pot. "Carol's Daughter boutique, opened in Brooklyn in 1999, and was named after Price's mother, Carol Frances Hutson, who died in 2003. Since opening the boutique, Price's biggest supporters have been her husband Gordon and their two sons, Forrest, 8, and Ennis, 7.

But Price's big career break came when actress Halle Berry called the boutique to order a gift basket for a friend of hers-- Oprah! The queen of talk later featured Price on her daytime talk show during a segment about stay-at-home moms. ___________________________________________________________________The company has a strong celebrity consumer/client base.

I love Carol's Daughter! The products are not widely sold, but getting them is imperative! I have used and can not live without the entire line of Almond Cookie products.

The shea souffle is especially good during cold months. The hair products are also excellent.

Tried it and hated it! Don't waste your money. I tried the lotion and the fragrance (I think it was called Almond Cookie) and absolutely hated the smell of it.

The lotion was nothing special. I returned both for a refund.
