To begin with, ObamaCare was a Republican idea. In the 90’s. Romney used it.
Many Repubs supported it right up until Obama did. Then they called it every name in the book. The Republican alternative when we were debating health reform was 6 bullet points on a web page.
Then, many months later, they finally came out with the Boehner Plan, which would have done nothing. It was a joke. Republicans don’t care about this issue, which is why they don’t bother to do anything other than obstruct.
Any Republican plan would have least done what Obamacare doesn't do: January 25th, 2013 ... "Supreme Court Decision On ‘Obamacare’ Could Leave Poor Without Coverage" PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – When the US Supreme Court upheld the Affordable Care Act last June, they created a glitch that could leave poor Americans without coverage, while providing benefits to legal immigrants. When the framers of Obamacare drafted the law, they assumed that all states would expand Medicaid to include poor citizens not currently covered. After all, the program pumps millions into the states as an incentive.
But then the Supreme Court stepped in and put a kink in the system. “The Supreme Court came along and said, ‘states, you do have the option. You don’t have to expand Medicaid if you don’t want to,’” says Drexel Law professor Robert Field, who has spent months lecturing on the Affordable Care Act.
