Sure! Many a time I have pushed that submit button and then start reading the other answers...and realize that I took the answer a totally different way than everyone else, or maybe didn't read the question well enough so I misunderstood what they wanted. How dumb do I feel when I do this!

But, it only takes me a few seconds to get over it....it's not like this is a final grade in a class for graduation or a life or death decision or a situation where I might get fired from a job! It's just a fun question, so it's really not anything to get embarassed about. More than likely, the others might not really take it the way I did, and won't think that much about it.

We are all more aware of our own screw ups and think they stand out like a sore thumb, when really most of the time others are too busy worrying about their own mistakes to notice ours! Many times I've seen answers done better than mine, but I think that's too be expected. There are always people smarter and better writers, and always people with less talents.

You bet your sweet bippie I have! In one instance I answered a question that was asked using a slang expression that I was not familiar with so I was not even close to being right. I wanted to crawl under a rock and I fully deserved the negative rating that I received.

On another occasion I answered a question only to realize that the way I answered it made it sound like I was being very rude to the questioner. I went to the comments section and apologized but I still felt rotten about it because the questioner was a newbie and I certainly didn’t want to drive him away. On other occasions I have given answers that were less than complete that I wished that I could amend and on other occasions I have gotten wordy and given far too much information.

It takes some experience but eventually most people do hit a happy medium. I don’t worry about it if someone gives the same answer that I do because Askville doesn’t allow me to see that answer until I post mine so there is no way that I lifted it. Sources: my experience .

YES I WAS! I gave such a simpleton answear to a question I thought I understood but when two others weighed in I quickly realized that the answear the poster was looking for was way over my head. I complemented them on their knowledge and learned something new.

Yes.. but it doesn't bother me too much.... I'm not a rocket scientist and never claimed to be so I think questioners know that when they ask a question and get all the answers and comments, they have to consider the answers they get and then decide for themselves. This is just a voluntary forum afterall. I KNOW there are some intelligent people participating so I let them answer those quantum physics questions.

Sure but that's what makes us all human. Besides variety is the spice of life. If we all answered the same and thought the same what a boring world this would be.
