Have you ever lied to a friend to get out of something you didn't want to do?

It is not an outright lie as it is an excuse. My friend (who always had a lot of drama in her life) wanted me to be her maid of honor and helped her with her wedding. Her house is very far away from mine and I didn't have a car.So I told her that I would be busy working and couldn't do my maid of honor duty.

I certainly would find it very difficult to go to her place which are several hours drive away from my place. But most of all didn't want to be dragged into her drama, especially since her family and her future husband's family didn't seem to get a long well. Other time, if I intended to break a promise, I just told I couldn;t come because I don't have transport, which is true since I don't have a car though technically I can ride a bus if I want to.

Besides, why should we always meet somewhere near their place instead of near my place?

Yeah, when I was 16 my friends wanted to smoke weed and they wanted me to join them. I said I was too busy so that I couldn't do it. No, I didn't feel guilty afterwards because I didn't want to waste my day getting stoned.

They probably knew I was lying but I don't care because I didn't want to smoke weed and I don't have to if I don't want to.

I hate liars, so I can't bring myself to do it. If I don't want to do something, I will either offer an alternative or I will suck it up, and indulge them. It doesn't hurt to do something just because it will make someone else happy.

We should all try once and a while to share things with out loved ones that maybe we wouldn't enjoy, but they really do.

Occasionally, I'll lie to dodge plans. I do feel guilty, because I do enjoy seeing them and I do care about them, but sometimes "I'm tired" sounds like such a lame excuse that I feel like I'm protecting their feelings to give a better story like I have to work late or something. I'm sure they would actually understand, but I just err on the side of them feeling better.

Yes all the time. It's more of an excuse though then a lie and they know I'm doing it. Especially those that don't return favors get my excuses.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
