Being a farm girl, I have many such stories.
I have a beautiful long-haired black cat, who is obsessed with me now after I nursed her back to health post 'running' her over with my 4WD. Needless to say I felt awful when the incident happened. I thought for sure that she wouldn't survive.
I was terribly upset.Well.....after $300 worth of xrays and a mini stay in the veterinary clinic, the vet told me that there was nothing wrong with her except for a graze on her belly. We couldn't believe it! Prior to her accident, this cat had a particularly grumpy nature.
Now she stalks me and smooches up to me where ever I go. Cheers, Louise ;).
Growing up we had all type of pets and each kid had a dog a german shepherd, they were actuallly sisters from different liters. Well they got out of the backyard one day and we went running after them I saw my beloved Queenie get hit and rolled over by a car. I screamed,I thought she was dead, she got up and was bleeding badly. My parents threw her in the car and off to the vet we flew,by the time we got to the vet the bleeding had stopped, vet checked her out and nothing was wrong with her.
Both dogs lived to ripe old ages of 15 an 16 in our years,so imagine dog years.
Yes, I had it with a cat, she managed to survive but I think that she had some ''phobia'' against cars after that. Very sad...
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
