No but I'm just starting out in this field. I'm not sure it's worthy buying a book though - the information becomes outdated so quickly that it is much cheaper and easier to keep up with the latest info by reading online articles.

Yes I have but I personally prefer learning from resources online because you get a well rounded education on SEO. Search Engines are changing all the time and as a result, books on SEO are not up to date with other factors that take part in SEO these days. But if you bought an SEO book that was published this year, your probably fine.

I love going to borders because I can skim through several books in about an hour.

I bought one - SEO for dummies. For someone starting out, it was a great way to get you thinking from an SEO standpoint, and had some great tips to apply immediately. Someone starting out should consider getting that book or something along the lines of it.

But for people that now know what they're doing and want more in depth learning, SEO blogs compete every day for higher quality content, so you can go to a number of these and learn more from their blogs than you would ever from a book.

Nope. Everything you can read about it is online.

I have purchased one or two, and I think it's important to learn as much as you can on this subject to get sites ranked pretty highly...

As simeonvisser says... there's not many books woth reading because by the time a book went to print it would be out of date. There is one book that is widely regarded by the best community to be there only one worth reading and that is SEObook. Com which comes in PDF and is regulary updated.

I have bought many things regarding SEO and to tell you the truth just go check out problogger. Net or sites that deal with SEO and blogs because that is where you will find free information that is much better than any book. I also payed a guru $500 for one month of training and I learned more in that one month than I would ever have reading any book or ebook.

Webspider20 probably has the best response. If you can find a mentor or find someone to train you, that is always the best way to go. A couple solid books are the Art of SEO and SEO Warrior.

No. I usually borrow books from our local library. I learned about SEO online.

One very good site is seoandtrafficbox.com.

I purchased SEO Made Simple and it is a great resource. It explains things thoroughly with easy to use language. The author is Michael H.Fleishner.

Yep, I have. To be really, really honest, no 'book' has helped me get good rankings (difference between pagerank & search engine rankings). It's mostly been a result of trial and error.

I'd recommend you follow some of the blogs such as SEOMoz. Org, etc. They have some seriously good information on SEO.

The internet is really organic. More often than not, books are outdated before they are even printed. HOWEVER, someone strongly recommended that I buy a book recently, so I did... I am expecting it to arrive from Amazon tomorrow...

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
