Pawn shops sell goods at a discount yes, but selling something to them is for the very desperate. If they will sell your item for $100, they may only give you 30-50 for it.....so that they are sure to profit. That's how they stay in business.
There is a show on television that shows the behind the scenes of a pawn shop. If you're interested to know what happens and how they operate, it's a great show to watch!
I check out pawn shops for buys. These instant cash ones are not like the ones on TV. They buy hot items and sell them at a huge discount.
I have purchased many a nice tool from these shops. The gold they sell by weight so you might as well go to the City and buy new that way. Ihave even seen heavy equipment for sale in them.
When you go look to see how long the item has been there, don't ask just watch, the pawn shop needs to turn over merchandise for cash flow and don't want to tie up money in the case. The longer they hold the bigger the discount you can negotiate. To sell there is crazy they give nothing.
I've never bought or sold. I've had a look around though. From what I've seen, most of the items aren't particularly good quality.
That being said, nicer pawn shops have nicer things. I've heard there are a few fairly classy ones in the celeb-heavy areas of California.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
