A compressor and an overdrive. They both go by various names - eg. compressor may be called sustain, overdrive anything from distortion / fuss / metal etc. Some combine both, but having separate control is far more flexible. A compressor is a kind of automatic level control; it makes notes sustain far longer.
Overdrive gives the typical fuzz/distortion sound. Together, you get a fuzz effect that lasts far longer than normal before it loses it's tone and fades. Other possible ones after that are such as reverb, chorus, echo, tremolo..
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
