Right with you there Lily. A mug is like having two cups of tea. My wife will only drink out of a white china cup ,with saucer and when we go on holidays she packs her cup and saucer, she is not a bit snobby, just likes a cup.
We had crumpets this afternoon ,but I prefer toasted tea cakes.
It sounds like your mom has some British blood running through her veins. My friend was an English war bride. She had to have the fine bone china cup and saucer for her tea also.
She could tolerate a mug if she had to, but it had to be white on the inside. And of course, tea had to be made the right way; boiling the water twice to start with. I prefer a mug that I can get 2 fingers through the handle.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
