There @toric and welcome back to Mahalo Answers. :) I took a quick look at your profile and it seems you have been away from Mahalo since the beginning of June 2010 but your activity had dropped off in April 2010 with just a bit of activity in May of 2010. There has been a few changes since then but the number one fundamental change has been in page management. As of early July 2010 we as regular Mahalo users cannot write or manage any type of Mahalo pages.
The PM system evolved into a Mahalo guide system and these guides now write and update all of the Mahalo pages. If you were actively involved in page management your pages have been removed. If you were happy as a page manager and would like to apply to become a Mahalo guide here is the application - http://bit.ly/Mahalo-Guide-Application - and you should send a letter of application to - apply at mahalo .
Com - and Mahalo will review your application and go from there. The next big change has been to the currency here. The Mahalo dollar is now a 100% virtual currency with no real value outside of Mahalo, where once we could get paid via PayPal our MDs at M$1.00 = US$0.75 now the Mahalo dollar is only spendable at the Mahalo store.
The Mahalo store has a selection of gift cards, charitable donations, electronics, and Mahalo swag, check it out here - http://www.mahalo.com/store/ I do not know if you were or are active as a Twitter user but where once we could Tweet share questions via Mahalo and earn M$0.01 - M$0.10 per Tweet up to 10 times per day now we can Tweet as many as we like but only one per day will earn us any money. M$0.10 once per day. Revenue Sharing on pages is obviously gone with the page management system but it has also gone in the Mahalo Answers Q&A.
Mahalo has suggested they will find more equitable means of getting Mahalo dollars to its most active and constructive users by holding contests and funding questions and even suggested that some of the power answerers might get paid a small per answer stipend (M$0.05 - M$0.25) for each answer they give, best answer or not. We have seen an increase in the tips of Mahalo staff funded questions and the number of Mahalo funded contests in recent weeks. Our Mahalo profiles have topic feeds now.
We can select any topic we like and questions asked in those topics we select will auto fed to our default Mahalo profile view. I saw this question because I follow the "Mahalo" topic amongst others. I do not think there is a limit to the number of topics one can follow.
I have seen some users are following 10 - 15 + topics. I think that pretty much sums up the new features and changes you have missed since late spring 2010. I have seen our CEO @JasonCalacanis say that now is a very fluid time in Mahalo Answers so we should expect more changes to come.
The website pushes a update deployment each Thursday night and we get to see whats new on late each Thursday and into Friday. Since these bigger changes have been going on the bugs in the system have been more significant but Mahalo has began a 100% better bug reporting system so if we are to come across anything we see as a bug in the system we are encouraged to report it here - http://www.mahalo.com/feedback - be sure to log in. This reporting forum works democratically and we vote up the bugs that are important to us.
Each of us starts with 7 votes. This system has worked as a remarkable improvement to the last less formal email bug report system. Getting familiar with this Mahalo bug forum is a good idea.
EDIT - The Mahalo email notification system has been revamped and improved. The new system is highly customizable and much more user friendly than before. I have never opted to get email notifications and by choice I do not now receive them but the entire system is explained here - http://www.mahalo.com/answers/kick-ass-new-email-settings-for-mahalo-answers - you will find the new settings under the "Settings" and then "Email Notifications" buttons in your Mahalo profile.
Just let me know if you have any more questions or have experienced anything I might have missed. Good luck, have fun, and welcome back to Mahalo Answers. :).
Need to make this stop! Are there any sets, mantras..ANYTHING.. to help to deal with fear? >with fear of getting ill..or of dying.
>while I am going to sleep and it is the most disturbing feeling. >living my life the way I should be. >feelings, I do not know.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
