How are you coping with the High Gas and Food Prices! The cost of everything has gone up because of the Oil prices, except our pay checks. Heating oil next year will be so high that some people will not be able to have heat in there homes.

The biggest way I've cut back is by simply taking the car only when it's necessary! I get up a bit earlier and ride my bike to work or take the bus. I walk to the grocery store, things like that.

Fortunately it is summer, and I am in Houston, so heating is not an issue. AC is, but the cost of electricity is fairly fixed (for now). Good question!

As for food, we have always bought what was on sale and I have a plan to get at least $5 in coupons every time we go to the store. That has taken care of the food prices so far. But, to be honest, we do not buy steak as often as we did.

The next step is to buy a condo when prices go down far enough - probably in two years.

3 I was in downtown Morristown, NJ last week..ALL the stores have closed, and the only people to be seen were STREET PEOPLE and/or ILLEGAL ALIENS..A very nice downtown all dressed up with nowhere to go..Generally, I take it RETAIL and especially AUTO DEALERS are getting hit hard..HOWEVER, there's a restaurant down the road from me where a steak dinner costs $135.. Try getting a reservation! Packed to the rafters with a line.. Lots of Big Yellow Hummers valet parked.. (but lot's of $2 tips..Gotta cut back somewhere)..So, if you're a believer in "trickle down economics" everythings coming up roses..

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
