I had to have my impacted wisdom teeth removed several years ago. I had known for a while that they were impacted and would have to eventually be removed in order to cut down on pockets were food can get trapped. However, in my case, it was not something that had to be addressed immediately.
Over time, the impacted teeth did push my other bottom teeth slightly out of alignment. Therefore, that is a consideration in how long you wait to have them removed. Additionally, there are different types of impaction. My teeth were horizontally impacted.
Yours may be different especially since you mentioned the proximity to nerves in the jaw. The surgery itself was not bad. I had the option to receive local anesthesia or to be completely put under.
I opted for the local. I experienced mild discomfort during the ordeal. I could hear my wisdom teeth being cracked and there was quite a lot of pulling involved.
However, this was tolerable. The doctor had told me before the surgery that I would need someone to drive me home and that I would need to take the rest of the day off. This was a major understatement.
The pain I felt afterwards, approximately two to three hours after surgery, was excruciating. For me, it was more painful than natural childbirth. I had been given pain killers, which I took, but unfortunately, they made me sick to my stomach.
This, in turn, pulled at my stitches. Therefore, I just stuck with over the counter pain medicine which wasn’t as strong but didn’t upset my stomach. Ice packs and soft pillows helped some.
This intense pain lasted for approximately 24 to 48 hours, with mild pain for about a week. My face was swollen and bruised for about two weeks. You have my sympathy.
Some people do not have wisdom teeth at all. Others that do sometimes have the good fortune to have them grow in with no problem. Others of us have to have them taken out.
I had mine taken out when I was either a junior or senior in high school. I don't recall it being that bad except for getting sick to my stomach a little due to blood draining down my throat. Be sure that you are hydrated before you have them removed.
Drink whatever you are allowed to drink. A friend of mine recently had some removed and because he had an adverse reaction to anesthesia and was dehydrated before he went, he did not fare so well. He is fine now but was rather the sick the day of the surgery.
If you take care of yourself before and after, you will probably be just fine! Remember it is a medical professional's responsibility to make sure that they have informed consent from you. That is why they have to tell you about the things that could go wrong even though things rarely do.
Good luck! Let me know how you do.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
