How can BIPOLAR DISORDERS be differentiated from other mental disorders, what are d criteria?

Bipolar is when a person is manic (elated) and then depressed. This can happen over a matter of hours, days, even months. People can also be both at once.

The primary way to treat it is though medication. There are herbs that claim to treat bipolar and depression but not to the extent of actual medication.

I don't know if this answers your question but if you have any specific questions id be willing to help you out.

As for the guy above, I am bipolar and I am very open about it. It doesn't shame me and I don't use it as an excuse. I still get things done.

A lot of times, people just want to know what is wrong with them if anything is wrong. I was that way and when I found out it was bipolar I was extremely relieved. I am not a fan of what you had to say but everyone has their right to speech.

I wrote a poem about what it's like to be Bipolar. To me it's like having too many people in your head, sometimes all talking at once.

Granted I can name a handful of people that do use it as an excuse for ridiculous behavior, but that's them. They use the excuse because they aren't willing to own up to their own actions. It is up to each individual whether they are willing to work through it or not.

If it helps, here's the link to my poem.... hubpages.com/hub/Bi-Polarized.

If you really have it you should be speaking to a doctor. I find that people are so quick to claim they have bipolar ACD blah blah blah when they want to blame their reckless behavior on something. I can't see someone who is truly mentally ill will freely share it with everyone.

WHat is the point in wanting to differentiate it. Just go and get the help you need to stabilize it, or whatever it is that you need done.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
