I think the word depends on if it is an emotional wound or physical malady. Never even started healing from an emotional would be "damaged" or "traumatized". Typically the sentence would allude to what experience needed healing.
From a rape, from killing people in a war, you get the idea. For a physical wound that never even started healing it could be a "mortal wound" which means if was fatal. Most often if the body incurs an injury it starts to heal.
If it is cancer it could "metastasize" but I'm pretty sure that is not what you are asking in your question.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
