How can I fix my sound in Windows 7? Windows keeps saying "no audio output device detected?

The problem is with your sound card driver. Your sound card driver is not compatible with the motherboard sound card chip. Post your motherboard model detail and I will give you the correct sound card driver.(some old sound chips are not detected properly in windows 7).

Use cpuz to detect motherboard details. cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html or type "dxdiag" in windows run dialog box (windows key + r) and post the motherboard model detail.

I'm pretty addicted to my laptop and am always frustrated when something is not working. I definitely feel your pain. I'm going to suggest two trouble shooting methods: one short and one long.

Short Method: Disable and enable your sound device. Long Method: It may not be your speakers/out put device and you have already tested them on another device. I know you have already done a surface test on the audio devices.

Let's do a deep step by step test. 1. Sound Card: Go to your device manager and make sure the sound card is installed.

If you see a yellow question mark and click on properties to see what the issue is. 2. Check Cables: The proper line-out jack is the first opening closest to you.

Also, sometimes if you have your headsets plugged in, it may cut off your new speakers. 3. Troubleshooter: Click on this link: windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/help... This link provides two troubleshooters: sound playback and hardware devices.

Good luck!

The most important pieces of information are missing. What is model of your motherboard and sound device, and are they on the HCL for Windows 7? If they aren't, you can't expect Windows 7 to automatically install the sound device properly by itself.

Linux uses a totally different protocol for locating and installing device drivers than does Windows 7. "No audio device detected" means that there is a conflict between a previously loaded device and the audio chipset. Either an interupt or address block that the audio chipset can work with is not available, the chipset is not recognised by the operation system, or an applcation is interfering with the detection of the audio chipset.Do a search for the audio chipset and Windows 7 to see if there are known issues or work-arounds.

If there aren't: 1. Whether your sound device is a part of the motherboard or a separate card, go to the website of the device and get the latest drivers. Read the release and installation notes 2.

If there is _any_software installed for the sound device besides the drivers, uninstall this software, uninstall any other communications devices and associated software such as fax or speech recognition, and any joystick ports. 3. Remove the driver for the sound device chipset and shut down the PC completely .

Restart in Safe Mode. 4. Use a registry cleaner such as Comodo System Cleaner to remove orphaned references to the driver and chipset.

5. Restart the PC in normal mode. If Windows says that it has found any new devices, do not let it proceed.

Use the manual add/remove hardware control to add the sound "card" by directing it to the driver you downloaded. 6. Reboot the PC and let it detect the other devices.

7. Install any software used in conjunction with the newly installed devices.

Go to Device Manager (within Control Panel). Then go to the Sound, Video and Game Controllers. When you expand that section, you should see a "gh definition Audio Device".

If it has a red X on it, you should click on it and point it to your driver. If it does not exist, then you need to "Add Legacy hardware" from the Action menu item. Then point that to your driver.

The problem is likely that your driver is a Vista or other driver which should work, but doesm't install right in Win7.

You could install the drivers from motherboard cd. Or update your sound drivers. Example: CMedia sound driver Type the keywords : CMedia + update drivers.

If Altek, you must caution because there is malware. Good luck.

Most likely your sound card driver is not installed. Go to wwww.drivermax.com, and install the program. First it will index your currently installed hardware.

Next, click on search for updates. Drivermax will open a page in your browser and show you a list of your current driver versions beside their update, if available. If your sound/audio hardware and driver information is not in the list, go back to your drivermax program and click identify unknown hardware. As long as you have a sound card, and it is not broken, drivermax will find you a driver with 100% satisfaction.

They do not charge unless you want to upgrade more than two drivers in a 24 hour period. A second reason your hardware could malfunction is if your BIOS driver is outdated. This is fairly uncommon and sometimes easy, and sometimes hard, to fix.

I think you should install driver for audio.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
