How can I get Assassin's Creed to run better on my desktop computer?

Your processor is not the problem, the problem is that your videocard is simply below the minimum requirements of any modern game. Any 6000 series videocard has been beneath the minimum requirements for most games to even function for a fewyears now, and that particular videocard (the 6100 as opposed to the more powerful 6600 and 6800s) was considered to be extremely weak even in 2004 when it was originally released. What you need to do is purchase a new Power Supply and Videocard.

For your videocard I recommend the inexpensive yet very respectable ATI videocard the HD5750 from the manufacturer XFX, which is known for it's excellent warranty and customer support. For your power supply, and please note this is a matter of safety as well, I recommend a Corsair 650HX which is also a modular power supply so you will be able to plug in or remove optional cords you don't need. Please note that while you can pick a cheaper or differently branded videocard you should not ever buy a power supply from an off-brand.

Power supplies are routinely mislabelled as being far better than they really are, and it is not at all uncommon for power supplies not from the main three brands (Corsair, PC Power and Cooling and Seasonic) to be both overrated and very unreliable. A bad power supply can damage or destroy the rest of your computer's components, and it is also easily capable of starting a fire or just directly electrocuting you to death as well. This isn't a matter of brand elitism or fearmongering, off-brand power supplies do this commonly enough that when one was tested using a full electrical testing setup the writer was not even suprised when the off-brand power supply didn't just catch fire but outright exploded.

It sounds like you shouldn't be having much probs you exceed the minimum reqs. This game is 2 years old. I heard 3 gigs RAM is recommended, so you should be fine.

I would say it's Vista and how you have your memory allocated is what is holding you back. Vista takes a boat load to run and to maintain. If you reduced your settings some you could have better performance and a faster start up time.

If you go to CONTROL PANEL and then to PERFORMANCE INFORMATION AND TOOLS you can change some settings like ADJUST VISUAL EFFECTS to increase your performance. The less pretty and special effects you use for your desktop and stuff, the power you'll have to game. Also there is a program that you can install called Advanced SystemCare.

They have a "game boost" option where you can shut down all those extra programs windows is running while you game. It's pretty cool, it'll show you how much RAM you are gaining, and then when you finish gaming, you cna just turn boost off and it restores those hidden programs you don't see clogging your RAM. Hope this helps some.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
