OdoBan I live in a cottage-type apartment with a neighbor's apartment connected to the back of mine. One day his kitchen drain backed up into his sink and also into mine. The smell was unbearable.

After his drain was snaked out and running smoothly the odor was still there. So I called the apartment manager Rental Office who sent the maintenance man to my apartment with some OdoBan. He sprayed quite a bit of it into my sink drain...and lo and behold the odor was gone!

He left the bottle with me in case the odor came back. About a week or so later I began to smell it again, but it wasn't nearly as bad as before. So I sprayed the OdoBan into the drain and once again the odor was gone, but this time it was gone for good!

I've since purchased three containers of it and use it in my kitchen and bathroom. Also on my vacuum cleaner bag, carpeting, furniture, bedding, just about everywhere. It comes in concentrated form where you can add water or use as is.

And it also comes in the RTU form (Ready To Use). I personally prefer the concentrated form without water. And it's also a disinfectant!

This stuff is great and I wouldn’t be without it. The following websites will give you further information: odoban.com/ odobancommercial.com/OdoBan_Odor_Elimina... Perhaps I have an answer .... Whoever has lived in this apartment since it was built, before You, was not careful with what they spilled on the floor under what is there now. Plus, if the walls are some sort of plaster board (dry wall), over these many long years they will absorbe food odors. It's a long slow process, but eventually they will reach a point where they can't absorbe any more.

That is where You are right now. This is why You are unable to get rid of the odors. The only way that You can delete this problem is to gut the entire kitchen right down to the structual frame and replace the walls, flooring, and cabinets with new materials.

You'd also have to tear down the ceiling and replace it too. Once You've done this, You will be fine. Otherwise, I suggest that You find a newer apartment that doesn't have this problem. To solve Your problem could cost $10 to 20 K depending on how elaborate You do it.

If You do some of the work Yourself, the cost will be slightly lower. In a rental property - Don't do it.Leave. Another thought - Before I bought this house 3 years ago, the other one I lived in for 29 years was reaching this stage where You are now.

I could tell, because when I went outside and came back in, I could smell the change in air quality. I knew that the house's walls had about three more years left before the main floor kitchen and adjoining living room areas would be saturated. I sold my house and got out at a good time.

A friend bought a house that had the same problem and she kept a little pan of water with a cinnamon stick on top of the stove all the time so she would boil once in awhile during the day trying to mask the odor. In conversation with the neighbors she found out that a large Chinese family lived there and they used the Wok (high temperature frying) all the times, with the paddle fan turned on. The grease went all over the house.

Only a serious washing and bleaching of the walls and a new coat of paint helped. Or Can it be from a neighbor apartment? Sources: experience .

I love apartment living, but the downside is you don’t know anything about the people that lived there before you. So many times I have moved into apartments that just had horrendous smells. Sometimes it was heavy cigarette smoke odor, pet urine smells, burnt food or other smells that are just unidentifiable.

I tried a few things, but I found this odor eliminator that worked really well that was recommended to me by my mother. It works great and is safe around kids and pets because it is environmentally friendly. You can find it at biocidesystems.com/roomshocker1.html html.

What can I use to get rid of ants in kitchen, home remedy.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
