How can I go about finding a book if I remember (most of) the plot, but not the title or author's name?

I'm looking for two books. I read them when I was in Junior so they were published no later than 2000, though I'm fairly certain both were written before 1990. They were NOT "young adult" or "teen" books.

The first book was a disaster / mystery book about a domino-effect of failing dams on a large river in the west of the US (perhaps the Colorado, but I don't recall). The protagonist eventually figures out that the initial dam was blown up by terrorists in order to wipe out a nuclear power plant. If I recall correctly (and I may not), the book was set (and likely written) in the '70s or '80s.

The other I only remember vaguely. Large / "mutant" spiders were attacking people.It started out with some teenagers camping in some remote park, and getting attacked by spiders. Later in the book, police and/or soldiers were fighting the spiders in sewers under a city.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
