Warm weather can indeed cause fatigue. If you can, try to stay inside where it is air conditioned. As you mentioned, drink plenty of water as well.
If you must be outside try not to stay in direct sun. If you can find shade and try not to stay outside for long periods of time. When I have alot of yard work to do I will get a hand towel and soak it in cold water and place it around the back side of my neckand over my shoulders.
The coolness is refreshing and helps ease the strain of summer heat. Then, when it gets warm, I simply go to the hose and soak it again. It is amazing how much more energy it seems as if you suddenly have.
Last week cutting grass in 93 degree weather I did the towel trick and then when I was done I set up the sprinkler and my chair and got wet like a young kid, it was actually revitalizing and fun! Stay cool, drink plenty of water and before you know it summer will be gone. flickr.com/photos/25658471@N02/3676346846.
I would assume the fatigue is a result of the heat. When the body is cold the brain says, work be active, warm up however if the body is to hot the brain says relax, exert less energy, cool down. So the only way to counter act the effect is to cool down.
You could try wearing cooler clothing, remaining in the shade, making sure all your drinks are cold (ex/ iced coffee rather than hot) or eating cold foods such as ice cream and popsicles, splashing your face or even body with cool water, sticking your head in the office freezer or one at home, get a desk fan or even hand held one. Anything you can do to cool down will help a lot more than just consuming mass amount of caffeine from coffee which will dehydrate you and you will crash from eventually.
When I was working in construction last summer, the heat was horrible. Here are some tips that helped me with heat exhaustion. *Up your intake of fruits and vegetables, over high salty foods.
These will hydrate you, and don't have a high amount of sodium. *Take an electrolyte drink and dilute it with water. Try this instead of drinking one or the other.
*Do not drink any caffeine or alcohol, it causes you to dehydrate. *Eat a banana or other high potassium food once a day. *Wear a well-ventilated hat.
*Place cold water on your head and neck throughout the day. *Wear light colors that are made from materials that are breathable. *Avoid the direct sunlight I hope these tips help you.
One other tip I even use to cut down on cooling cost, is sleeping at the hottest times of the day. So, I can be up and going at the coolest times.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
