How can I tell if my 11 year old Australian Shepherd is cold when she spends the day outside in the winter?

If she is outside all the time she should acclimate to the cold just fine providing she has 1) shelter from the wind and elements -- a proper sized house is best --- 2 )adequate food and water -- good food that provides quality calories 3) a full coat that is clean and not matted ---- at 11 she will not be able to regulate her temp as well as she did when she was younger so if its sunny she can go outside on days down to 25 on days that are cloudy probably not below 35 .

Just like people --- shivering first --- moving around trying to stay warm --- eventually they can act somewhat drunk or will be very lethargic if they get to cold .

Then she is, too. If she has to stay out, she needs a good study house filled with straw to keep her warm while she is outside.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
