How can tablet computers or wireless slates be used with interactive whiteboards?

Since a tablet computer essentially functions like a laptop or computer except with a touch screen interface and without cables or wires, if the SMART Notebook Software is installed on the device and the device is able to communicate with the SMART Board, it can be used to control the software applications the teacher needs to use just as if the teacher was controlling them using the SMART interactive whiteboard itself. A wireless slate similarly lets a teacher control the computer connected to the Smartboard interactive whiteboard. The teacher’s movements across the wireless slate with a finger or digital stylus are translated into mouse movements or annotations in digital ink on the interactive whiteboard screen.
