How can you write a scene about losing a loved one if you never experienced it?

Art is not limited to experience, in fact sometimes the further from your personal life the better as once someone plays inspector Colombo or miss marple on your work they think its open invitation on your private matters. Any guys such as described in honesty are creepy losers.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
