How can you write a successful fictional novel that keeps pace with popular fiction already on the market?

Here's some advice from an amateur writer: First of all, you have to determine who your audience is. This is extremely important, you don't want to bore your readers or make it too hard for them to relate to the book. Once you have selected your audience go to the library or bookstore and checkout the most current best sellers that your audience reads.

Make sure you read the books and find the similarities between them. For example: Remember that vampire craze we had a while back? Most books with vampire love stories became best sellers at that point.

I think another vampire love story would still be a hit. Although, that particular craze was way too much therefore a similar book would be way TOO redundant. So, I would suggest you look at best sellers with unexplored topics.

One last piece of advice is to include controversial topics that society rejects. Make those topics a common thing in your books, not only does it enthrall the reader but it makes them feel like they are different from everyone else. And always collect opinions from others, not necessarily from friends or family.

If you want to write something similiar to what's popular, your best bet is to read as many recent books as you can, to see what publishers like. This is also a great way to think of ideas for things to put in to flesh out your novel. If you're looking for specific guidelines, there really are none, but if you look in your local library there are sure to be books on fiction writing that may help you (keep in mind you don't have to do anything they say in books but it can help clear up some of the confusion).

As for what aspects of life to include, I'd say as many as you can as long as it doesn't bog down your plot and leave your characters doing nothing but considering the current state of their lives.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
