Text entry box is javascript, I think, and so can be slow The text box, having all these cool buttons and stuff, has a lot of stuff going on when you're typing. There's the formatting going on behind the scenes, the character count for the summary, etc. This is usually nice, but you can run in to problems on slower/busier computers. I'd say trying to turn it off and see if that helps, but I couldn't find (in 30 seconds of looking...) a way to do that.
You could use the little arrow thing on the left side which hides the bar and see if it goes faster, but I don't know if it would actually help or not. IDK I have not been able to replicate this problem on my PC. (My PC is a 2Ghz, 1GB RAM, XP Pro) My guess is that your PC is on the older side and the Askville site is a bit much for it. Sources: my opinion .
Looks like it's not only my problem Yes, it's slow. Since I'm not the only one having this problem, there is a possibility that something is not exactly right with Askville (from time to time) .
Slowness.... I don't find that to be the case on my computer. The typing shows up on my screen as I type. Perhaps one of your settings is off and slowing down the rate of information exchange on your computer..
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
