Women That sounds like jealousy but it can also be curiosity. Even if he's curious, it all goes back to jealousy. He may be curious about what you said because maybe he hoped it was about him.
He probably likes you which is why he asked.
Well its definitely Curiousity Every body is curious about some statement into the ear of another person in front of them ... its a secret. Secrets are what everybody wants to know thus being mysterious is considered so attractive. So any mysterious thing will cause jealousy attraction and lust (notice how I didn't say true love) but these things will definitely help build a relationship.
Now I would have to know the specific situation more. But I would predict that it is jealousy. (Or at least partly jealousy and partly curiousity.) We can definitely agree about that.
The question is what part jealousy and what part curiousity instigated the question. To answer that we should consider what might have caused the jealousy: it might be merely jealousy of attention. This other person/thing/insert noun here has your attention and not me, I want all your attention.
I sometimes get this / have seen others get this that are merely my friends for instance they're talking to me and Im looking off to the side. But its more pronounced with my girlfriend. If one of us is clicking away while talking on the phone we get jealous that something else has stolen the other's attention.
I would say this is definitely a component to the jealousy. Next, we have the fact that its a woman stealing the man's attention. And that correct me if I'm wrong but that woman is asking if its jealous to do so.
Any time another person of the same gender steals a S/O's attention it will obviously cause jealousy. The fact that you're asking suggests that you are worried about you appearing jealous which means your definite jealous as far as female vs female. If you are not the same woman I would still say that is probably jealousy of woman vs woman because this person told you about the event meaning that they considered if it was jealous or not and needed input.
But even if its completely hypothetical its still jealousy women-vs-women because its natural for that to happen.
1 It sounds more like suspicion to me. If he hits the woman for not answering him then that is jealously. This user has been banned from Askville.

2 It might be jealousy, it might not be. It's one of those "you had to be there" kind of things, to see the facial expressions, body language, and attitude of the parties involved. I understand Lychnobite's comment, but jealousy isn't always expressed in violence.
There are other things that are done that can show jealousy that don't always involve violence.

Contemporary orthodox Jewish women often wear wigs. My question is:" "How many men would it take to make the perfect man? How many women would it take to make the perfect woman?
For you....

A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
