How come nobody teaches their kids manners anymore?

It is difficult when it's your own kids. Realize that your being frustrated does not help them learn. They begin to feel that everything they do is wrong.

You need to lower the bar. You need to have times when you are prepared to just tell them whatever they do is very good. Try that and you will see they will do better.

Make a decision to say positive things or nothing. You are frustrated because your expectations are very high. You need to lower your expectations.

Whatever they do, find something good to say. See how that works. It will probably work a lot better than what you are doing now.

First...you need to relax. Your thinking of homework time as a household chore. Do homework within an hour after they get home or they will be too tired to do it and will lose their focus, thus making homework time a chore for all of you.

Make it a game! Let homework be fun time. Mix things up a little and take turns with your hubby or even older children to help with homework too so it's not always on you!

But the biggest thing.....Make it fun! My kids Love homework time because we act so goofy! My kindergartener loves doing his site words because I hold the card up in the air and when he says the word, I put it in a short sentence and then attack him with the card and tickle him!

He cracks up laughing! He is at the top of his class! Kids learn the best when they are having fun!

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
