In a presentation I attended by The Urban League and the Martin Luther King Jr. Center in Central Ohio in the mid-1990s, we were taught that sagging pants dated to pre-Civil War days in which slaves were outfitted with saggy pants without belts so they could not run far or fast, if they were to stay dressed. Then, in the 1980s or 1990s, some rappers were said to adopt the style in order to make something bad (slavery, bondage, and immobility) into something good (their idea of pop fashion), rather in defiance of the bad.
I don't quite remember when but I think it was started by Jay-z. But that was then its all about skinny jeans now!
Because most people do not realize that saggy pants and pants worn around or below your butt started in prisons to signify ownership. Not understanding the origin of some fashion can leave a person broadcasting all kinds of things that may not always be in their best interest.
Easyguyevo and poeticColor22 Thanks for your answers.
I don't know but I think they need to revise that silly trend.
Yes, my dear friends, this “style” is also a signal for gay sex. If you’re not gay, may I suggest picking your pants up before Bubba comes along and misinterprets your meaning? … No one really wants to see what color boxers you’re wearing today or worse, your butt crack…see: hubpages.com/hub/The-True-Meaning-Behind-We.
When comfort became more then aplesure it became a state of mindand thus people have transfered that lax attitude into most of what they do.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
