How Did the Word “Bully” Originate and Why Does it Have Both Good and Bad Connotations?

I don't truly know where the word bully originated, but if I were to take an educated guess, it might have to do with a metaphoric interpretation of a bull. Bulls are known as aggressive animals that rear their ugly horns. Hence a bully, someone who aggressively tries to dominate another and get in their face.

I'm not aware of bully having any good connotations, but in the Eastern side of the world a bull is viewed as a sacred animal, while in the West the bull is often associated with the devil.

It's such a babyish term. They should just call bullies "weak" and let it go there.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
