What you need to do is get a wireless router. You will connect your cable modem to the router using an ethernet cable rather than connecting the modem to your computer directly.

If you don't have a router set up here’s what you have to do. If you have desktop computer what type of connection are you useing currently? If you are useing dial up, you would need to upgrade eather to dsl or cable.
