How do I discipline a child with ADHD?

Disciplining a child with ADHD can feel like a losing battle sometimes. You may even want to just let them do whatever they want because it seems like the easy way out. There are some good websites out there that offer advice on how to administer discipline that works without wanting to pull your hair out.

On additudemag.com/adhd/article/1879.html, has a great tip of interrupting the behavior in a calm and firm manner by taking away the item or person the child is engaged with. The website, additudemag.com/adhd/article/771.html offers a recommendation of using charts and timers. Charts are useful in keeping track of good and disapproved on behaviors.

These charts can be used to set goals like getting a new toy with a certain number of stars at the end of the week for good behavior; or to remove favorite items for disruptive actions.
