How do I get a guardian ad litem?

I HAVE TRIED TO CALL THE COURT HOUSE IN JOLIET ILLINOIS AND HAVE GOTTEN A PHONE NUMBER FOR LEGAL AID UP THERE... I DON'T LIVE IN ILLINOIS SO THEY WON'T HELP ME. WHAT ELSE CAN I DO? WOULD IT HELP TO WRITE A LETTER TO THE JUDGE IN MY CASE?

IF SO, WHAT SHOULD I SAY? Asked by doodle12 39 months ago Similar questions: GUARDIAN AD LITEM Politics & Law > Law.

Doodle12 replied to post #2: 3 ok, my sons are now living with their father in Illinois, he decided not to give them back after his visitation was up. Now he has a lawyer. My youngest son has bipolar and OCD, he wants to come home and is acting out because his father refuses to let him even talk to me.

He begged and pleaded with his father, then I guess he flipped out and threw his cereal across the room, got in 3 fights in school and is now in the psych ward because he is so upset he just wants to die. He just wants to come home. S father won't listen to him.

We go to court on Oct 20th, I can't afford a lawyer in Illinois because I don't live up there (the retainer fee is way too high for out of state clients), but he needs a voice in court. I called everywhere up there today and got "sorry, but since YOU aren't a resident in Illinois we can't help your son"... I'm at the end of my rope. I need help, someone that will listen to him and help him be able to tell the judge what he wants without his father being there to threaten him.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
