How do I get ick out of my fish tank? All of our fish died and I want to treat it before we get new fish. And ideas?

All of our fish died and I want to treat it before we get new fish. And ideas? It is a 10gal tank that my daughter just got two weeks ago for her birthday.

The fish were sold to us already having the ick. We didn't realize that the white spots where a disease or whatever, and they all died, so we want to start over and make sure the ick is all out and the tank is set up properly for goldfish! Please help!

If all your fish died, turn the heater up to the highest setting. Let the water heat-up, and remain heated for 3-4 days. Without any hosts (fish), and the extreme temp, any parasites will expire completely within only a few days.

Return the heater to normal (usually around 72-74, for most species), watch your thermometer to drop accordingly...... go shopping for fish. :)* remember! Your tank will naturally go through a nitrate cycle when you re-populate the tank.My suggestion for a 10 gallon is to start with no more than 2 or 3 fish, even if they're small.

The tank will naturally "cloud", but it should only last for about 4-5 days, at most, and then clear on its own. ** Don't add chemicals to try to clear the water.It will happen naturally, which is best! :) .

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
