How do I scold my dog when he pees in the house or is biting something he shouldn't?

Depends on the dog. Can you give more information such as the breed, age, behavior (aggressive/submissive), etc? Okay, I have yet to see a response, so here's a generic answer. It sounds that your dog is young (not being housebroken and bitting). I recommend you keep a collar (either a prong collar or nylon collar with 2 rings and 1 snap -- see source 1 for information) and leash on your dogs at all times.

If you can purchase a double ended snap, you can attach your leash to your pants. Then, anytime your dog exhibits a behavior undesirable, you can correct him and give him a command. In four steps: 1.

Say "No" loudly and firmly.(Voice is as important as the words.) 2. Make a firm correction by jerking on the leash.3. Then give the dog a command such as "sit" or "down." Make a correction if dog does not follow command.

If your dog is about to urinate, take your dog outside immediately. 4. Praise dog for doing proper behavior (yes, this includes peeing outside).

Again, match your voice to the words (your no and good should not be in the same tone). Once your dog learns commands and proper behavior, you can relax your watch and let him off the leash for short periods. If bad behaviors continue off leash, then back to having him on the leash.

This works every time. Note, what collar you need will depend on your dog. The resource I listed below gives information on the benefits of different collars.

Some people do not like the looks of a prong collar, but scientific evidence shows these are more humane than choke collars and necessary for some dogs. Of my two, one needed a prong collar; the other did not. However, you must learn the correct way to fit and use the collar before getting one.

You have to catch him in the act...dogs don't have a good memory when it comes to that stuff, but catch him and loudly tell him no until you have him outside.

Best thing if possible is try to catch him in the act, and make a noise, to get him to stop then take him outside to finish his business Rubbing his nose after the fact will do nothing, since he will have no idea of what he did wrong Make sure you also clean the pee really good, and use a pee smell remover, to keep him from going their again. As for the biting, it is also best to catch him in the act. Tell him no, Then give him something else to take out his bordem/aggresion on.

A good loud "NO! " has worked for me, but what is more important is that you encourage the good behavior. When your dog looks like he is going to pee quickly take the dog outside, ofter your dog is done going, make sure you praise him/her, give him/her a treat.

If the problem is chewing on things, make sure there are plenty of toys to chew on and make sure your dog is getting plenty of exercise. I hope this helps.

For peeing, you have to catch the dog before the act, or just before, as sometimes in the act is too late, he's already done the damage to the carpet! As soon as you see the dog slow down, you've got to have a command. In the act you may be too far away to get there and command him.

The dog will not remember later on, if you try to remind him and take him back to the place. You should have a command for the dog, so it knows every time it's doing something it should not be doing.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
