medicinenet.com/sciatica/article.htm Here is one article. I work for an orthopedic surgeons' office and there are injections if the pain is bad enough, or medications. What have you tried so far?Htm.
SAM-e are awesome pills for joint pain, and they are over-the-counter. Not sure if they would help sciatic pain or not, but they have done wonders for my knee joint pains! IT'S COMPLETELY GONE!
First you need to find out what is causing it, a slipped disc, bulging disc, ruptured disc, out of alignment. What is pressing on that nerve? An MRI can tell you what is causing it, then work with your doctor for relief.
Maybe adjustments, and physical therapy, massage therapy, or more involved like a discectomy , fusion, nerve block injection, to name a few options. A TENS unit is very effective. And of course the dreaded cocktail of pain meds, muscle relaxants.
I say dreaded because they are addictive. , and the longer you are on them, your tolerance changes and you need higher and higher doses. After 8 years I was fried.
But first find out what is causing the sciatic nerve interference. I had the nerve block injection, I went immediately from a level 9 to a level 0 in pain, sadly it was only as part of a diagnostic tool to find exactly which nerves in my back were being pinched. But for 5 glorious days I was 100% pain free.
THEN I had the 3 level fusion, and now live with level 6+ daily.
I had some exercises that fixed my pain. They were from a physical therapy person. But I expect they are different for everyone. In my case I was on my stomach and pushed up with my arms to bend my head pack and keep my back straight and then held the exercise for a few seconds.
Please do not so any exercise that has not been approved by a health care professional. This is an example - not a recommendation.
Stretching is the best thing you can do, I suffered from sciatic nerve pain for months and stretching is the best, cheapest and safest way to help control it.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
