Wish I had some details about when and why you don't have sound, but here is what you can do... You either have no sound at all, or it' snot loud enough, or you have a hardware problem. I have hopefully provided solutions for all. #1 - No sound at all - If you hear nothing, check out the picture right below this.

If you notice on the right, nect to the time, is the speaker icon with the red circle/slash. This means at one point someone hit the mute button. To undo this, click on the speaker icon, and when the window opens, uncheck the mute button.

Depending on your sytesm setup, but you may need to then double click on the sound/speaker icon next to your system time on the lower right. Then see if any of the items are muted, or at a very low setting. See the picture below for an example.

You can also check the obvious, like power to the speakers. Sperkers are plugged into the computer. If you use headphones, make sure the wires are good, and the mute is off.

#2 hardware - Depending on your computer manufacturer you may have to check out your sound card. If it's integrated, you may be out of luck, withough purchasing a new one. So to recap, check volume controls, check for muted controls, check speakers and headphones, hope your sound card is OK.

Sources: personal knowledge .

Open the sound control panel Go to Start > Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices. You can adjust the volume here directly, but make sure that the box for "Place volume icon in the taskbar" is checked and click Apply. A tiny speaker icon will appear in your system tray (bottom right).

Left click for a simple volume slide control; right click and select "Open Volume Control" for a more extensive version.

Increasing the sound From your question I understand that you increased the sound of the computer (two seperate things computer sound and windows sound), the computer sound you usually increase by pressing function button (Fn) and usually one of the F buttons (you do not say which model computer you have). In the windows you can see on the bottom right side and icon of a speaker you can double click it and a panel will open in which you can control the sound, make sure nothing is on mute. If you do not see an icon you may also reach it by going to control panel in the start menu and clinic on it and when the window opens you go to sound and audio devices, it will open a window in which you may control the sound.

Good Luck, Sources: My opinion .

If so you need to install your sound card drivers..Go to the dell website, support>find your model>sound drivers..

1 There is no way to answer this question without first knowing what the problem is about. Is it a laptop or a desktop? It has external or internal speakers?

Is the sound disabled? Is the sound card working? Is the sound coming out but very low?

Are you trying to use Windows Media Player to watch a video or listening music? Are you using Winamp to listen MP3s? Are you trying to hear the sound of a video in Youtube with IE?

Thanks, Carlos .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
