No. I spent 11 years as an Advanced EMT-3 in Alaska doing Bush and Mountain rescue. And any team that took a newbie to climb K2 would have blood on their hands.
They would have start the climb knowing full well the whole team would end up carrying his stuff and taking turns babysitting the newbie - and even then he/she could still die. Good chance the team's ability to get a permit for future climbs would be revoked for life - for every team member that participated. Of course, there are always exceptions.
If you were a handicapped Medal of Honor winner who always wanted to do a climb like that and had exceptional skills despite your handicap - maybe.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
