How do we bypass administrator restrictions on vista business? We can't update new programs. Don't have password?

We can't update new programs. Don't have password This is a desktop from a biz that went under. We can use it fine, just can't update any programs or add anything new to it.

We don't have any original software and don't know the password. I've tried following suggestions like cmd. Exe, but get the "error 5" message.
