How do you advise I introduce a new kitten to my two older cats?

My husband found an abandoned kitten yesterday, and brought her home. We've been keeping her separated from the other cats until she got a clean bill of health from the vet (which she got today). So what is the best way to introduce her to my other cats?

We've introduced many new pets to our family... Bringing a new dog into the group actually seemed easier than working with a new kitten or cat...we would just have them meet on neutral grounds...like a vacant lot...then advance to the fenced yard...and eventually, into the house... But cats are a whole ’nother story...LOL...We have tried keeping the newcomer in a pet carrier and letting the other cats come by and sniff her...then, in a day or two, opening the carrier door and letting the ’newcomer’ venture out of their safe place a little at a time.... What I think worked best for us was just putting the new kitten in a different room with the door closed. The other cats sniff and paw under the door for a few days...hiss a bit... But, in time they get used to the new scents and sounds of the kitten and we open the door and start to let them mingle at their own pace. It’s worked well for all but one cat that came to visit.

When my daughter moved back home for a year, bringing her Bengal Leopard...he just never wanted to associate with the ’commoners’...and our four cats just couldn’t accept him either...it was always a big hissing contest...LOL...so we just kept them in their own areas for the entire time. Our biggest fear was that the Bengal had been declawed...and our cats are in tact...so it wouldn’t have been a fair fight if they started a brawl. Just take it slowly with the new kitten...you’ll get a ’feeling’ of when it’s safe for them to mingle.

Always best to test then while you’re going to be home...just in case Although we can't adopt them all (we already have 6) we can make sure they have lots of munchies and fresh water. I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
