If you want to get a pet, please consider adopting one. There are thousands of animals waiting for a new home. Save them and save some money, rather than purchasing them from a pet store or breeder!
(*There may be an adoption fee or vet costs, which may make getting one not entirely free.) Check online to find local animals up for adoption. http://www.petfinder.com http://www.animalshelter.org http://www.craigslist.org http://www.pennysaverusa.com Review the listings to see what is available and if there is an animal desireable to you. Try to find one that is local so you will not have travel expenses.
Read all of the information to see if there is an adoption fee. Also find out if the animal needs shots and/or a vet visit. Contact the owner/agency to get more information.
Get as many details as possible so your chances of finding a match is greater. Arrange to meet the owner/agency and animal before making a decision. Find out what supplies, if any, will also be available and if you ... more.
