Hakama pants are a traditional Asian garment originally only worn by samurai men. The garment is very similar to a skirt and is the lower part of a kimono. It is designed to be worn over a "gi" or the standard martial arts uniform which was traditionally considered to be undergarments.

Today the hakama pants are part of the wardrobe of martial arts uniform. Oftentimes the garment is reserved for the highest levels of martial artists as a sign of respect. But Tying the hakama properly can be challenging.
