How Does Analog and Digital Oscilloscope Work?

We will talk about the analog type and then the digital type. The voltage signal of an analog oscilloscope runs to the vertical system. The vertical system is used to control the amplitude of a signal.

The increasing of a signal voltage is depending on how the vertical scale is set. The signal then transferred to the cathode ray tube. When an electron hits the phosphor inside cathode ray tube, it creates glowing dot that is moved by voltage which is applied to deflection plates.
