I have digital HD cable box & digital HD TV on splitter with analog DVD Recorder. How to record 1 show & watch another? My cable company (FIOS) has already went digital leaving me no way of recording one show with my Pioneer analog DVD Recorder while watching another on my HD digital television.(They are currently on a splitter with FIOS HD digital set top box.) I've tried to research this but keep hitting a brick wall.
I would think it would be possible with a dual tuner TV Converter box but even though it looks great on paper techs are telling me it's just not possible with the setup I have. Are they right? Please help.

It sounds they're right. You should follow them or you may ask them how you would go about it. They should know how to do it.
I always follow technicians because they know what to do. Sometimes we insist on doing it our own way, well, just try. If you can do it, congrats!
But if not, it seems you need a more hi-tech advice from other technicians nearby. Sources: My opinion .
You can do this by means of compatibility observation. You will get the HD programming but not the HD definition unless the following is true... You must have a HD compatible TV and you must also have a HD compatible cable box WITH the necesary HD cables. It is the simple way that will solve your problem.
Hope that helps! Please rate me "Great answer"! It is my opinion.

Verizon FiOS HD DVR is really the way to go. It is an elegant solution to the problem. The GoodOne click recording.
Can set default series settings -- first runs only, etc. Keep until space is needed -- a must have feature that some DVRs don't. You can see what is going to record by looking at the guide -- something TiVo is missing. Conflict resolution popup is a nice touch.
Widgets with things like weather and traffic are cool and useful. Channel up button works as the page up in the guide, which helps eliminate some keys on the remote. Skip button skips days in the guide.
Can configure the amount of time to skip and replay, 10, 30, etc. Can turn off video when viewing guide or menus -- but not easily. Three views for guide, full screen, half or mini -- very niceAbility to buy channels you don't subscribe to from within the guide. Channels change fast for a HD DVR.
Disk size status page is useful -- another one TiVo doesn't do. Online scheduling. http://www.engadgethd.com/2008/12/24/verizon-fios-hd-dvr-review/Or a DVD player with a digital TV tuner is another option.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
