Whenever I hear that someone is about to train their dog to use puppy pads I always ask them why they want to train their dogs TWICE. First you train them to use the pads and then you have to train them not to use the pads and go outside. Double training is what you are now looking at.

Dogs have amazing noses and if any has soaked into the substrate they will go there again and again. Now you have to set up a regular routine on taking him outside to pee. The amount of time is determined by his age and size.
