Our cells constantly replace dead cells with new ones. New cells grow and split and recycle the old dying and dead cells in a well balance cycle of life. This happens naturally.
Smoking kills cells faster and often this somehow throws off the balance of the cycle -it goes haywire. The cells start to grow and split with no recognition of balancing the new with the old. This mutation and rapid new growth is what we call cancer.
