How does socialization influence prejudice and discrimination?

Since prejudice is a judgment based on group membership or social status and discrimination involves treating someone differently because of his or her group membership or social status. When people socialize, they tend to learn about, understand and respect others' affiliations.

Simply put, socialization tends to reduces prejudice and discrimination.
