How does the 'Patriot Act' have an effect on your every day life...good or bad?

Unfortunately, small kitchen type scales tag people as drug dealers and people don't like to buy them. I bought one at Kmart a few years ago and I had to show my ID to purchase it. Ridiculous.

Someday our Government will spend it's time, money, and resources to do useful things, but right now we are chasing our tails and as a result people are affraid to buy items like scales and certain types of gardening equipment becuase of the patriot act.It is a complete violation of our privacy and it needs to end! The terrorists have won in this country. They came, they created chaos, and now we are turning on ourselves.

I laughed all the way thru your "question" quoting the other person's answer. And I'd read it already. "Patriot Act"?

The laws were already in place back to the times the POTUS declared a "state of emergency" and--whoops--never got around to canceling it. We Americans are still technically under a "state of emergency"whether we know it or not. That said, I remember a housemate who had a very good scale .. .

That he used in his drug deals. I'll bet most of your answers to the other question will be, "No, I don't. " Americans tend to only deal with bathroom scales, and things that register less than 1/2 pound are so specialized as to be unusual.

And you know how we are about unusual! If you don't want to do the ID thingie, order from a scientific supply. But we are, slowly, having our "freedoms" removed.

If quickly, we'd all get our guns and go take them back; those in power know that.So they're putting us to sleep with friendly words, nice speeches, and lotsa TV while they slowly remove how we used to be able to do it. 3 I really wonder about this comment in the question... considering that you can buy scales at Target, Walmart, any kitchen store, etc. I cannot imagine anyone being asked for an ID as part of the purchase process. I haven't bought a scale in some time but I doubt the veracity of that statement. When I buy a new one I'll let you know if I am carded.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
