My traffic, and therefore revenue, are continuing to fall after Panda rolled out to other English speaking countries. I expect it to level out soon. I think if you continue to publish on Hubpages you will need to choose more specific niche titles because hubs cannot easily compete with the more competitive terms as used to be the case.
Keyword research and onpage SEO are still very important. Getting quality backlinks to your hubs has become more necessary. HP has guidelines on how many product ads can be displayed now.1 per 50 words. As for external links, just make sure they a useful to your reader and don't go overboard.

My visits have begun to rise and so has the revenue. The advice often given here is to write niche hubs. Photography by itself is not a niche, but then I wrote some articles with niche titles.
A recent search on Google brought up some of my hubs as the first ones on the first page. This to me was a clear indication that the niche advice is right on the mark. An example was to search for photography hubs, here my rankings were not too good (sixth or seventh page) but if I search for silhouette photography hubs, that search brings my hub as the first on the first page.
I still need to refine the process further but it points to a solid path to follow. Hope this helps.
Susana -- Thank you. I appreciate the time you saved me with posting the HP ad guidelines and the discussion link. Good point about backlinks.
I'm learning everything I can about SEO. I've increased the traffic to all my hubs, but there isn't much from Google. This may be an odd time to come back to HP, yet I want to give it a shot.
Luis -- That's encouraging. So many surfers don't look past the front page -- it's great your niche topics are making it.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
