How is Crafty's performance on the Macintosh compared to other platforms?

Although Crafty is a relatively strong Macintosh chess program, it could be performing much better. Crafty is essentially an elaborate 64-bit calculator. On other 32-bit platforms, 64-bit support is provided by the gcc compiler.

On the Macintosh, 64-bit support is provided by a C++ class. The C++ class is much slower than gcc's built-in data type. Better performance is a high priority.

Currently, several compilers are being investigated as possible alternatives. More.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
