In my experience, quite likely. The first thing to keep in mind is that seizures manifest in many different ways. Some seizures may be impossible to detect without medical equipment, and even then, it takes detective work.At other times, seizures are voilent.

If someone has a "drop" seizure unexpectedly, a seizure where he or she falls, then that person may hit his or her head. In the bathroom, there are many hard objects for someone to hit his or her head on-- a sink, the toilet, the tub, the shower, soap dishes, cabinets, even the tile on the floor or the towel bar. From reports, Jett Travolta had intractiable epilepsy, that means he had epilepsy that wasn’t controlled.

Epilepsy is generally a disorder that can sucessfully be controlled through a variety of means. The first line of treatment is anti-seizure medication. Jett Travolta was on that.

Unfortunately, this doesn’t always work, or if it does it sometimes stops working. After that there are some other options. Some people try the Ketogenic diet, a diet that is like a very strict version of the Atkins Diet, a very low carb, high fat diet that works by putting the body in a state of ketosis.

Some children only need to be on this diet for a couple of years to achieve some permanent level of control, for others some diet is a life-long committment. A Vagus nerve stimulator is another option. This is a sophisticated device that is implated in the body and delivers electrical stimulation to the Vagus nerve-- the largest nerve in the human body.

This treatment is also now being used for things like depression. Surgery is another option. Is the epilepsy is severe and the focal points are limited-- the places where seizures originate, then depending on where those are, a neurosurgeon may perform surgeon on those points. Medication is the most common form of seizure control.

With anti convulsanlts for seizure control in someone with epilepsy like Jett, no drinking or drugs would be tolerated by the patient, physically. Those would interfere with the medication and cause seizures. With epilepsy that severe he wouldn’t have taken the risk.

Also, in addition to epilepsy he reportedly had some developmental disorders-- though likely not autism. Whatever type of developmental disorder, it is likely that he was not a teen prone to acting out in terms of drugs. Teens with developmental disorders and severe epilepsy do not tend to do that.

While he bumped his head, he didn’t have any head trauma that contribiuted to his death, according to the death certificate. He died from a seizure. Sometimes people with epilepsy will have missing teeth, black eyes, and so forth, and not have any long term problems from hitting their heads.

But seizures can be deadling. Adolescense is a time of greater instability for many epiletpics due to changes in the body, like hormonal changes. These make seizures more difficult to control.

Sometimes seizures, such as tonic clonic seizures (grand mal) where a person convulses can cause a person to stop breathing and so forth. If the seizure goes on too long a person can die or there can be brain damage from the seizure and so forth. When a seizure goes on too long it is called a status seizure and that needs emergeny care.

Most seizures are not deadly. But some are, and it is truly tragic when that happens. Sadly, it is likely that things are exactly as they appear.

Very likely. It's not as if that's the first time something like that has happened. And if the kid were going to die at 16, being in such a well-protected environment, that's pretty much how it would have to happen .. .

I'm talking God wanting the kid dead for usually to protect the poor kid from further harm. But it certainly has happened before. I wouldn't assume anything nefarious of Mr. Travolta without evidence..

1 My brother died the same way, due to a seizure, so what they are saying I believe is very possible.

2 I don't think anything else was going on. If you look closely at the pictures of Jett, it is clear that he had some sort of medical issues. Facial expressions, even the shape of his teeth tell me that he had some type of problem.

That and the fact that he, at the age of 16, had nannies and a door buzzer alarm, lets me know that his parents were taking safety precautions with him. I think he died from the seizure, just like the autopsy stated. The reason the "bumping his head" was mentioned was just that- he fell and bumped his head - there was blood on his face.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
