It depends on what types of languages you want to learn; if you try to learn Latin-based languages the process will be easier because they share many qualities with English (i.e. Same alphabet, similar pronunciation, shared words, etc) Any languages with an alphabet, whether it is a Slavic alphabet, Arabic alphabet, etc, will be the second easiest type to learn because once you learn the alphabet you can sound words out. Languages that do not have an alphabet, but use characters, like Mandarin (Chinese) are much more difficult for Americans to learn because they require memorizing literally thousands of characters. As you can see there are all different types of languages, so the difficulty and amount of time it takes to learn any of them depends on the language itself.
Americans are just as capable as the rest of the world at learning other languages. The reason why people in other countries seem to know more languages than the average American is because the education system in the United States does not require or promote language learning as much as in other countries. The quickest way to learn any language is to completely immerse yourself, so visiting other countries for extended periods of time can make the process quicker.
If an American was trying to learn seven languages as fast as possible I would suggest they go to Europe because the languages (except those in Eastern Europe) are Latin based and the alphabet and syllables will be familiar.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
